JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born July 10, 1980 is an American actress, singer an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. After performing in church choirs as a young girl, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997 at seventeen. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, sold two million copies across America. The single "I Want to Love You Forever" was a commercial hit. Simpson altered her appearance to reflect a more mature image for her sophomore studio album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second top 20 single on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), certified it gold. This Skin (2003) was Simpson's third studio album. It sold 3 million copies in America. Simpson's early career was defined by her wedding to Nick Lachey. She has also appeared on MTV's reality TV series Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica in 2003 and 2005. Simpson's debut Christmas album ReJoyce was released in 2004 and it was certified gold. Her debut in the film The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. She also sang an original cover of "These boots are made for Walkin'" for the soundtrack of the film. 2006 saw the release of her fifth studio album A Public Affair. She also appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the Month. Simpson started her career in country music with the release of Do You Know (2008) her sixth studio album. Alongside her musical pursuits, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, which was a fashion-focused line with 34 product categories. The company is among the most successful known celebrity licensing company, with over $1 billion in revenues to this point. She also starred on the reality television series The Price of Beauty in 2010, judged clothing designs on two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
